 Family:  Labridae (Wrasses), subfamily: Cheilininae
 Max. size:  9.9 cm SL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  reef-associated; depth range 3 - 35 m
 Distribution:  Western Pacific: Sagami Bay, Japan to the Philippines and northern Australia (including Western Australia).
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 11-11; Dorsal soft rays (total): 8-9; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 9-9
 Biology:  Found over loose rubble in seaward reefs (Ref. 9710). Forms aggregations to feed on zooplankton.
 IUCN Red List Status: Data deficient  (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
