 Distribution:  Western Central Pacific: Philippines and Banda Sea, Indonesia.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 5-5; Anal soft rays: 4-4. Tubercles on body stellate, without sharp apex. Snout short, 4.8 in HL. Interorbital wide, 2.3 in HL. Caudal fin rays, 9 (Ref. 35995).
 Biology: 
 IUCN Red List Status: Data deficient  (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
 Country info:  Type locality, Verde I. Passage, 13°33'15"N, 121°E (Ref. 36656); Albatross sta. 5295, 422.73 meters or 231 fathoms (Ref. 50473).
