 Family:  Syngnathidae (Pipefishes and seahorses), subfamily: Syngnathinae
 Max. size:  15 cm SL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  benthopelagic; pH range: 6 - 8; dH range: 5 - 19
 Distribution:  Asia: Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam, and Thailand.
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  Reported to feed on mosquito larvae. Ovoviviparous (Ref. 205). The male carries the eggs in a brood pouch which is found under the tail (Ref. 205). May brood at 10.4 SL.
 IUCN Red List Status:   (Ref. 96402)
