 Family:  Bothidae (Lefteye flounders)
 Max. size:  12.7 cm SL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  demersal; depth range 30 - 215 m
 Distribution:  Indo-West Pacific: Maldives, Philippines, Borneo, northern and northwestern Australia, Coral Sea, Taiwan, and southern Japan.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 79-83; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 60-64. Caudal fin without a pair of jet-black blotches. Mouth rather large, maxillary extending below middle of lower eye. Pectoral rays elongated into filaments, greatly longer than head length.
 Biology:  Inhabits sand and mud bottoms.

Between Samar and Leyte, vicinity of Surigao Strait: Tabuc Pt., (Leyte), 62 fathoms (113.5 m), Stn. 5480, USNM 93570 (Ref. 11790). Also Ref. 9494.
