 Family:  Leiognathidae (Slimys, slipmouths, or ponyfishes)
 Max. size:  10.2 cm SL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  reef-associated; depth range 0 - 20 m
 Distribution:  Indo-West Pacific: Indonesia, Philippines, New Guinea, and Guam. Recently recorded from Tonga (Ref. 53797).
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 8-8; Dorsal soft rays (total): 16-16; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 14-14
 Biology:  Inhabits inner reef flats and silty coastal waters to a depth of 20 m or more.
 IUCN Red List Status: Not Evaluated  (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
 Country info:  Museum: Bulan, Sorsogon, USNM 55906 (holotype). Also Ref. 1602.
