Dorsal spines (total): 7-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 7-9; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 7-9; Vertebrae: 26-26. This species is distinguished from its congeners by the following characters: cephalic sensory-pore system lacking only the IT pore (pattern 2); only some pectoral-fin rays are branched; pectoral-fin base have 1 or 2 prominent dark spots; dorsal/anal-fin formula usually 8/8; without occipital spots (Ref. 108789). |

Type locality, Palawan Province, NW side of Putic I., USNM 225176 (holotype of Eviota bipunctata, 1.4 cm SL, male). Also collected from Negros Oriental (Maloh, Negros I. and Vic Port Siyt) and Zamboanga del Norte (W side of Solino I.) (Ref. 108789). |
