 Family:  Syngnathidae (Pipefishes and seahorses), subfamily: Syngnathinae
 Max. size:  3.6 cm SL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  demersal; depth range 0 - 100 m
 Distribution:  Western Central Pacific: Sulu and Celebes seas and from off northwestern Irian Jaya.
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  Planktonic specimens were taken in the upper 0 to 167 m over depths of 1280 to 4825 m. Ovoviviparous (Ref. 205). The male carries the eggs in a brood pouch which is found under the tail (Ref. 205).
 IUCN Red List Status: Data deficient  (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
