 Family:  Ogcocephalidae (Batfishes)
 Max. size:  9 cm SL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  bathydemersal; depth range 291 - 500 m
 Distribution:  Western Pacific: Tosa Bay, the Kumanonada Sea, and the Philippines; Chesterfield Islands (Ref. 11897).
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  A benthic species found on the continental slope (Ref. 75154). Minimum depth from Ref. 58018.
 IUCN Red List Status: Not Evaluated  (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
 Country info:  Type locality, off Sombrero Is., USNM 70271 (holotype of Halicmetus reticulatus) (Ref. 84011).
