 Family:  Ogcocephalidae (Batfishes)
 Max. size:  30 cm TL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  demersal; depth range 20 - 120 m
 Distribution:  Indo-West Pacific: off South Africa, Madagascar, New Caledonia, Salomon Is., the Philippines, Taiwan and Japan.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 4-5; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 4-4. Dorsally red ventrally (Ref. 6612).
 Biology:

 Threat to humans:  harmless
