 Family:  Pseudochromidae (Dottybacks), subfamily: Pseudochrominae
 Max. size:  16.7 cm TL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  reef-associated; depth range 1 - 5 m
 Distribution:  Western Central Pacific: South China Sea.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 2-2; Dorsal soft rays (total): 25-25; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 14-14. Description: Characterized by generally dark brown color including fins; caudal peduncle white; pale caudal fin; posterior dorsal fin with black spot; anterior lateral-line scales 51-53; depth of body 36.4 % of SL (Ref. 90102).
 Biology:  Solitary. Inhabits silty coral reefs in 1-5 m (Ref 90102).
 IUCN Red List Status: Not Evaluated  (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
 Country info:  Reported in Nasugbu, Batangas (Ref. 107853). Extremely rare, 10 individuals sighted during survey (Ref. 48613). Type locality: Culion Island (Ref. 40966). Extremely rare, 10 individuals sighted during survey (Ref. 48613). Also known from Calamianes Islands (Ref. 90102).
