 Family:  Setarchidae (Deep-sea bristly scorpionfishes)
 Max. size:  13 cm SL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  bathydemersal; depth range 180 - 410 m
 Distribution:  Western Pacific: Japan to Western Australia.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 27-27; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-10; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 6-6. Color in life pink, with 5 indefinite large dark blotches on the sides of the body: the first three below the spinous dorsal, one below the soft dorsal and one on the base of the caudal fin.
 Biology:  Found on the continental shelf (Ref. 11015) and continental slope. Benthic (Ref. 75154).
 IUCN Red List Status: Not Evaluated  (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  venomous
