 Family:  Acropomatidae (Lanternbellies, temperate ocean-basses)
 Max. size:  15 cm TL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  pelagic-oceanic
 Distribution:  Indo-West Pacific: southern Japan, Taiwan, China, Philippines and Australia.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 10-10; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-10; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 7-8; Vertebrae: 10-15. Length of anal fin base shorter than length of longest anal fin ray. shape of 1st pterygiophore of anal fin spine-like, with a shallow groove long the anterior edge.
 Biology: 
 IUCN Red List Status: Not Evaluated  (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
