 Family:  Syngnathidae (Pipefishes and seahorses), subfamily: Syngnathinae
 Max. size:  15 cm SL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  demersal
 Distribution:  Asia: Batu (Bato) Lake and Yassot Creek, Luzon, Philippines.
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  Ovoviviparous (Ref. 205). The male carries the eggs in a brood pouch which is found under the tail (Ref. 205).
 IUCN Red List Status: Endangered (B2ab(iii)) (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
 Country info:  Type locality, Lake Bato, Camarines and Yassot Creek, Albay, Luzon. Also reported from Palawan (Ref. 280). Museum: ZMB 6633; BMNH 1868.7.10.1; MNHN 6036 (Ref. 5316). Also Ref. 94476.
