 Family:  Nemipteridae (Threadfin breams, Whiptail breams)
 Max. size:  22 cm SL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  demersal; depth range 30 - 100 m
 Distribution:  Western Pacific: Indonesia and northern Australia.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 10-10; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-9; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 7-7. Suborbital spine absent. Preopercle with 3 transverse scale rows. Pectoral fins long, reaching to between level of anus and origin of anal fin. Pelvic fins very long, reaching to or beyond level of origin of anal fin. Upper lobe of caudal fin slightly rounded and rosy. A line drawn up from posterior edge of suborbital reaching the dorsal profile about 2-4 scales before the origin of dorsal fin. Axillary scale present. Color: Upper body pinkish, silvery white below. Two silvery-mauve lines in front of and below eye.
 Biology:  Occurs on sand or mud bottoms. Feeds mainly on small crustaceans.
