 Family:  Holocentridae (Squirrelfishes, soldierfishes), subfamily: Myripristinae
 Max. size:  45 cm TL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  reef-associated; depth range - 180 m
 Distribution:  Indo-West Pacific: southern Japan to the Andaman Islands, and Australia. Also known from Fiji and Tuvalu (Ref. 12596).
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  Found in the sublittoral zone (Ref. 11230).
 IUCN Red List Status:   (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
