 Family:  Microdesmidae (Wormfishes), subfamily: Ptereleotrinae
 Max. size:  2 cm SL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  reef-associated; depth range 5 - 37 m
 Distribution:  Western Central Pacific: Philippines, New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Fiji, and Palau.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 6-6; Dorsal soft rays (total): 15-18; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 16-17. Description: Characterized by semi-translucent body with orange midlateral stripe; white belly; absence of scales on body; no head pores; emarginate caudal fin (Ref. 90102).
 Biology:  Inhabits coastal reefs (Ref. 1602). Swims in small groups or mixes with Eviota in large caves or below overhangs (Ref. 48637).
