 Family:  Sternoptychidae (Marine hatchetfishes), subfamily: Sternoptychinae
 Max. size:  4.73 cm SL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  benthopelagic; depth range 322 - 966 m
 Distribution:  Indo-Pacific: Taiwan, Philippines, Indonesia; South China Sea and the Coral Sea.
 Diagnosis:

 Country info:  Collected during the Hearst Expedition 2011 done off Batangas and Mindoro, off SW Luzon (Ref. 95664). Also Ref. 559.
