Dorsal spines (total): 2-2; Dorsal soft rays (total): 7-7; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 5-5. Preserved color dark dorsally, fading to yellowish white on throat and belly; scales outlined by broad dark bands or rows of dots; fins colorless or with rays more or less dusky dotted. 12 scales between nape and dorsal. Origin of dorsal nearer caudal than snout. Lateral line complete reaching caudal; 9 scale rows between lateral lines over middle of caudal peduncle. Least depth of caudal peduncle 1.44-1.77 in its length. Maxillary extending to front eye margin. |

Known from Lake Mainit, Mindanao (Ref. 4867, 13446). Collected from Titunod R. near Kolambugan, Lanao; Cagayan R., Misamis Oriental (Ref. 2929); Pasonanca R., Zamboanga; streams in Tawitawi I. (Ref. 280). Recorded as Rasbora punctulatus from Basilan I., Balactasan River, and Burakan River (Ref. 2929). Museum: Mindanao, Lanao Prov., CAS-SU 38108 (Ref. 2091). Type locality of Rasbora philippina , river at Pasananca near Zamboanga, Mindanao; and Rasbora punctulatus , Zamboanga, Mindanao (Ref. 94476). |
