 Family:  Samaridae (Crested flounders)
 Max. size:  11.5 cm TL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  demersal; depth range 65 - 122 m
 Distribution:  Indo-West Pacific: Myanmar and Indonesia. Also from China Main (Ref. 31075), Hong Kong (Ref. 33837), and the Philippines (Ref. 9494).
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 68-72; Anal soft rays: 55-57; Vertebrae: 39-39. Head length 4.4 to 4.7 times in SL (Ref 12933).
 Biology:  Feeds on small benthic animals (Ref. 9792).
 IUCN Red List Status: Data deficient  (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
