Dorsal spines (total): 7-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-9; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 10-10. First dorsal fin of males elongated. Ctenoid scales loosely arranged on anterior part of the body; naked on head, full nape to around first dorsal fin base, pectoral fin base, and entire belly. Coloration specific in male, body with a large transverse blotch of grayish violet in the middle; creamy yellow anteriorly, and shiny red orange posteriorly (Ref. 44834). |
Seems to prefer smaller drainages in clear hill streams (Ref. 44834). |
