 Family:  Gobiidae (Gobies), subfamily: Gobionellinae
 Max. size:  9.04 cm SL (male/unsexed); 8.77 cm SL (female)
 Environment:  demersal
 Distribution:  Asia: rivers entering the Mindanao Sea and eastern Mindanao of the Philippines.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 7-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 11-11; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 11-11. A very robust species, males 22 to 24% of SL at origin of second dorsal fin; steep snout; breast scaled; predorsal scales 15-21, usually 17-18, always fully scaled.
 Biology:  Reported from rivers and estuaries over sand and mud bottoms (Ref. 34009).
 IUCN Red List Status: Not Evaluated  (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
 Country info:  Specimens were collected in 1993 from Calbiga-a creek, Leyte and Sohoton Cave, Basey River, Samar (Ref. 7223). Type locality, Mahinog River, Camiguin (Ref. 94476). Museum: USNM 99878 (Ref. 34009). Endemic status computed from FishBase data (country records, occurrences records in literature and in point data) on 16/07/08.
