 Distribution:  Indo-Pacific: Philippines (Ref. 280) and Sri Lanka (Ref. 31147).
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  Species rarely cited in the recent literature, only as material examined (Ref. 29003, Ref. 31147, Ref. 31163), in lists (Ref. 9790) or in keys (Ref. 92921). Cited in some field guides (Debelius). Please send references or more studies are needed.

 Country info:  Type locality, off Sirum I., Sulu, USNM 98864 (holotype of Cymbacephalus armatus) (Ref. 280, 92868).
