Definition of Term

exploitation rate
(english) The proportion of a population that is caught during a certain period, usually a year. For example, if 720,000 fish were caught during a year from a population of one million fish alive at the beginning of the year, the annual exploitation rate would be 0.72. (See also: fishing effort, population)
taux d'exploitation
(french) La proportion d'une population qui est capturée pendant une certaine période, habituellement une année. Par exemple, si 720 000 poissons avaient été capturés pendant une année à partir d'une population d'un million de poissons vivant au commencement de l'année, le taux d'exploitation annuel serait de 0.72. taxa de exploração
(portuguese) Porporção da população capturada durante um certo período, normalmente um ano. Por exemplo, se 720.000 peixes foram capturados durante um ano, de um stock inicial de 1.000.000 nesse ano, a taxa de exploração anual será de 0.72. (See also: fishing effort, population)
