Definition of Term

tropical
(english) Climate characterized by high temperature, humidity and rainfall, found in a belt on both sides of the equator. Can be subdivided into arid, savanna, and rainforest. Air temperature may range from 20 - 32°C. Preferred water temperature above 20°C. (See also: subtropical, temperate, boreal)
tropique
(french) Climat caractérisé par des températures hautes, d'humidité et la chute de pluie, se trouve dans une ceinture des deux côtés de l'équateur. Peut être subdivisé en aride, savane, et forêt tropicale. La température de l'air peut avoir entre 20 - 32°C. Température de l'eau préférée au-dessus de 20°C.
