Pigmentation:
At < or = 3 mm SL: Melanophore at an angle of jaw and on lower jaw tip; also over hindbrain. Few scattered melanophores on ventral surface of visceral mass. Diffuse melanophores on three patches on side of tail. Melanophore on dorsal surface of tail just anterior to notochord tip.
At 5-10 mm SL: Melanophore at angle of jaw. Large, intense group of melanophores in caudal fin. Scattered melanophores on anterior, ventral surface of visceral mass. Some internal melanophores along developing vertebral column in tail, just anterior to its tip. |
