Newly hatched larvae swim close to the mother's mouth, sometimes entering the mouth, for about 4 to 5 weeks. Yolk-sac is enlarged. Feeding on microcrustaceans commences at a length of 2-3 cm even before the yolk-sac is compeletely resorbed.
