Inhabits high altitude streams 300-400 m in elevation (Ref. 2847) and occurring in areas with good vegetative cover (Ref. 6398). A carnivorous and egg laying species which tolerates the following aquarium conditions: pH=7.5, H=10, 26°C water temperature (Ref. 6398).
