Vertebrae: 59 - 61. Similar to C. lugubris, but differs from it by lower jaw projecting well beyond the tip of the upper jaw, and the length of the lower, longer than head length. Mandibular membrane very thin, forming distinct gular pouch. Length of upper jaw about equal to head length (Ref. 559). Length of lower jaw on ocular side 22.7-26.5% SL, on blind side 22.2-26.9; depth of caudal peduncle 4.0-4.9% SL (Ref. 10737).
