Maxillary barbels without basal membrane, reaching to the anterior half of the humeral process and longer than the head; mandibular barbels with short, broad branches (Ref. 81251). Snout subconical; lips moderately developed (Ref. 81251). Premaxillary teeth forming a short but wide band; 22 to 24 movable mandibular teeth (Ref. 81251). Humeral process is twice as long as wide (Ref. 81251). Dorsal spine weakly serrated along the posterior edge but not along the anterior edge; adipose fin as long or only slightly shorter than its distance from the first dorsal fin; pectoral spines are strongly serrated along both edges; pelvic fin not reaching the anal fin (Ref. 81251). Caudal peduncle longer than deep (Ref. 81251).
