Etymology: Hemirhamphodon: Greek, hemi = half + Greek, rhamphos = bill + greek, odous = teeth (Ref. 45335); tengah: Named for the central province of Kalimantan, Kalimantan Tengah from where most of the specimens were collected (Ref. 26761).
