Body pale, with dark stripe edged with pale blue from the snout, through the eye, to just past the pectoral fin, meeting some indistinct barring anteriorly on upper sides (Ref. 12723).
Occurs in protected bays and harbors; often on silty habitat or fine white sand just below the intertidal zone. Make burrows under solid objects; hovering close to the substrate. Adults usually in pairs (Ref. 12723).
