Definition of Term

high period
(english) The period during which water depth is highest during a given tidal cycle. This occurs as the terminus of flood tide, prior to the beginning of ebb tide. (See also: tide, flood tide, ebb tide)
haute mer
(french) Période pendant laquelle l'eau est à son plus haut niveau au cours d'un cycle de marée donné. Elle marque la fin de la marée montante, avant le début de la marée de reflux. (See also: tide, flood tide, ebb tide)
