Diagnosis

Body without scales. Long snout, 4.6 of TL. Long, strong, slender jaws; upper jaw length 8.2% of TL; upper jaw longer than lower one. Ventrolateral gill slits, below pectoral fin base. Anus far forward, one gape length behind the tip of pectoral fine. Lateral line nearly complete, length 95.6% of TL, with a tubelike groove connecting every other pair of lateral line pores. Number of cephalic lateralis pores: infraorbital 8; supraorbital 5; preoperculomandibular 9.
