Short description Morphology | Morphometrics

Dorsal spines (total): 12; Dorsal soft rays (total): 10; Anal spines: 3; Anal soft rays: 8. This species is distinguished from its congeners by the following set of characters: relatively slender body, 2.3-2.6 (mean 2.5) times in SL: D XII,10; scale rows between fifth dorsal-fin spine base and lateral line 3.5; scale rows above lateral line 4.5, scale rows below 10.5-11.5; second anal-fin spine exceptionally robust and long [21.0-26.1% (mean 23%) of SL], 1.4-1.6 (mean 1.5) in 2AS/3AS, its tip reaching slightly less than vertical at rear end of caudal peduncle; pored lateral-line scales 43-45 (mode 44); the first soft dorsal-fin ray clearly longer than last dorsal fin spine; pelvic and anal fins are weakly yellow for most part, while lower caudal fin lobe yellowish grey, lacking a clear white distal margin ventrally; no black streaks proximally on inter-radial membranes between yellow anal-fin rays; no black blotches on inter-radial membranes between dorsal-fin rays; very weak diffuse dark blotch at the origin of lateral line continuing over upper part of posterior opercle and upper cleithrum (Ref. 93743).

Estimates of some properties based on models

Phylogenetic diversity index (Ref. 82805):  PD50 = 0.5000   [Uniqueness, from 0.5 = low to 2.0 = high].
Bayesian length-weight: a=0.02344 (0.01079 - 0.05095), b=2.94 (2.76 - 3.12), in cm Total Length, based on LWR estimates for this (Sub)family-body shape (Ref. 93245).
Trophic Level (Ref. 69278):  3.3   ±0.4 se; Based on size and trophs of closest relatives
Resilience (Ref. 69278):  Medium, minimum population doubling time 1.4 - 4.4 years (Preliminary K or Fecundity.).
Vulnerability (Ref. 59153):  Moderate vulnerability (36 of 100) .
