Head and body below lateral midline whitish with many small dark grey spots (versus dark reddish brown); one black and white whitish longitudinal stripe of about same width (width of black stripe 0.9-1.8 times width of whitish stripe versus 0.3-0.6); distance from dorsal-fin origin to upper margin of whitish stripe about equal to distance from anal-fin origin to lower margin of black stripe (upper distance 0.9-1.2 times lower distance versus 1.8-2.7).
Found in a wide, shallow stream with fast current and sandy bottom (Ref. 41279).
