Africa: endemic to Lake Abaeded in the Danakil Depression of Eritrea (Ref. 85754).

Only known from small endorheic lake in a hyper arid region; opportunistic feeder; eats grashoppers and feeds on algae grazed from the surface of plants and rocks; large males guard pits over sand (Ref. 85754).
