Remarks 'Squaretailed', i.e., with a square tail; 'square', i.e., four sided figure, from Old French 'esquare, esqire' from Vulga Latin 'exquadra, exquadrare' (p. 496 in Ref. 11979); 'tail', from prehistoric Germanic 'taglaz' (German 'zagel', i.e., penis; Swedish 'tagel', i.e., horsehair) from Indo-European 'doklos', i.e., something long and thin (p. 519 in Ref. 11979).
